ABOUT US

Our Story

Gamma Phi Beta was founded on November 11, 1874 at Syracuse University. One of the ten oldest women's organizations in the United States, Gamma Phi Beta was the first organization to coin the term "sorority". Currently, there are over 140 active collegiate chapters and over 150 alumnae chapters throughout the country. The mission of Gamma Phi Beta is to inspire the highest form of womanhood, an idea that originated with our four founding sisters and is still carried out today. The four core values of Gamma Phi Beta are love, labor, learning, and loyalty.

The Epsilon Theta Chapter at Clemson University was installed on April 9, 1988 and is proud to be part of the Clemson University Greek Community and the Clemson Family. Our sisters strive to spread the core values of Gamma Phi Beta on campus every day. We are so proud of each and every one of our sisters for their hard work and dedication both in the sorority and in their campus involvement!
