We are the Epsilon Theta chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Clemson University, and we’re so glad you’re here! I am Elizabeth Umina, and I am honored to be serving as the 2024 President of our beloved chapter.
This chapter means so much to me. If I could describe our chapter in one word, it would be community. Gamma Phi Beta has given me my very best friends.
A little bit about me, I am originally from Concord, Massachusetts and I am currently pursuing a Business Management degree here at Clemson. I love sunsets, the color pink, boat days, being surrounded by my friends, and sharing about my study abroad experience in Paris!
Our sisterhood was founded in 1874 at Syracuse University by four women on the four core values of Love, Labor, Learning and Loyalty. Today, our Epsilon Theta chapter at Clemson University has brought me just that; loyal, loving friends to go through life with. Gamma Phi Beta has shown me that sisterhood is in the small, everyday moments: sitting together in class, dinner dates, running to the store together, staying up late to watch the Bachelor on our hall, getting ready for functions together and cheering on the Tigers. Gamma Phi Beta has shown me how a new place 967.2 miles away can instantly feel like home.
As the President, I hope to lead my sisters to be bold, yet kind. To love each other well and to be passionate about whatever sets their soul on fire. I hope to lead my sisters to live up to Gamma Phi Beta’s mission, “To Inspire the Highest Type of Womanhood.”
I have never known a sisterhood quite as sweet as Epsilon Theta, and I hope our website gives you a little glimpse of just that! Thank you for being here to take a peek at what it means to be a member of the Epsilon Theta chapter of Gamma Phi Beta!
With Love and In IIKE, Elizabeth Umina Epsilon Theta President
